INSTALLATION 

The Tester is supplied in fully assembled ready to use condition. However before putting it to operation, it has properly installed and various setting done. Following the steps given below can carry out installation of the tester. 

Place the tester on level surface and level it. Adjust the level using the plumb line so that both the front and side faces of the channel frame are vertical. If desired the ester may be grounded after leveling. 

Ensure that the electric supply cable and the plug are undamaged. Connect the plug to a single phase % a – 3 Pin socket. Check for proper earthling of the tester to ensure safety in case of any electrical shorting.

SELECTING THE SPEED 

The Tester has two speeds of traverse of lower grip. The speed to be used for testing depends on the specifications for the materials being by tested. As general guide materials having low extensibility should be tested at lower speed while material having high extensibility should be tested at high speed. The speed used should be such that the average time taken for any test specimen to break lies between 20 & 40 second. For changing the position of the V belts to the with the help of hand wheel arrangement. Change the position of the V belt to the desired grooves and tighten the V belt again by taking the pulley away form each other. Continue tightening till the V belt is under sufficient tension to prevent any slipping.
